Air France-KLM remains committed to aviation decarbonization through usage of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

As the world’s first SAF user, the group is on track to meet its 2030 targets. In 2023, the group’s airlines incorporated nearly 80,000 metric tons of SAF, doubling the 2022 amount, solidifying their position as the world’s largest SAF user for the second consecutive year.
To secure future supplies, Air France-KLM signed offtake agreements and MoUs with SAF producers globally, investing in production capabilities and strategic partnerships. The group, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions per passenger/km by 30% by 2030 compared to 2019, surpassed regulatory requirements. In 2022, they accounted for 17% of SAF production, consuming only 3% of global kerosene.
