ANA: new Boeing 777 cabins

ANA has installed new First and Business Class zones on its Boeing 777-300ERs.

Inspired by Japanese luxury hotels, the eight spacious new seats in First Class – known as THE Suites – and are set out in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each unit has fully closable doors. Thanks to a flexible partition wall, the two seats in the middle can be turned into a double cabin. The 43-inch displays – the first 4k screens for a passenger airline – are another new feature. Passengers can use the monitor to adjust the brightness of the lighting and the angle of their seat according to their personal preferences.

ANA calls the 64 seats in the new Business Class “THE Rooms”. As in first class, they are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration and also have flexible doors for additional privacy. The seats are almost twice as wide as in the previous Business Class. Another interesting feature is that several seats can be grouped together, allowing colleagues to host meetings in flight. To make this possible, rows of seats alternate between direction of travel and looking towards the back of the aircraft.

The 24 Premium Economy Class seats and the 116 Economy Class seats have also been redesigned: individual covers with Japanese patterns, improved touchscreens and head rests that can adjust across six different axes. These updates were also introduced in ANA’S Boeing 787–10 Dreamliner a short time ago.

And last, but by no means least, ANA has completely changed the entry area to the aircraft to feature a hotel-like reception with welcome monitors. Another new feature is a self-service bar which is equipped with mini refrigerators where passengers can help themselves to drinks and snacks at any time. The first remodelled Boeing 777–300ER will be used on the Tokyo-Haneda to London-Heathrow route.
