New seat fees at Lufthansa

The Lufthansa Group is billing a fee for Premium Economy Class seat reservations with immediate effect. Until now, this service had been complimentary.

Depending on the tariff zone, the fee ranges from EUR 35-55 per passenger and flight segment. The new fee applies to all Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines tickets. Group bookings and HON and Senator status passengers are exempt. When checking in, online seats can be selected free of charge, as before.

Privacy Seat reservations on SWISS and Austrian Airlines Business Class flights aboard Boeing 777s have been a paid service since 2017. Passengers can expect to pay between EUR 89 and EUR 189 for reservations, depending on the tariff zone. HON and Senator status passengers, however, can continue to reserve at no extra cost.
