Low-cost carrier Germanwings adding Lufthansa routes

The “new Germanwings” has taken off in early July and is adding all Lufthansa Europe routes, with the exception of those destined for the Frankfurt and Munich hubs where Lufthansa aircrafts are to be used also in the future. For the concerned connections, tried-and-tested standards are diverged from with regard to the tariff as well as to the service concept. The “Smart“ price, as it is called, is comparable to other “Economy” offers.  The “Best” tariff option (also designated as “Komforttarif“) features a product close to business-class standards for the first three rows, respectively, offering more leg room, on-board meals and drinks and also the possibility to bring two pieces of luggage. On top of that, passengers can use Lufthansa lounges. In the mentioned categories, bookings can be changed via the “flex option“ – yet for cancellations, extra charges are levied.
