TAP Air Portugal introduces more long-haul routes

,

TAP Air Portugal has added to its long-haul schedules and is now offering flights from Lisbon to San Francisco, Chicago and Washington.

San Francisco, Chicago and Washington are available five times a week with excellent connections from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As well as the new routes, TAP already serves the following cities in North America:

  • Lisbon to New York JFK, Newark, Boston, Miami and Toronto
  • and Porto to Newark

The airline recently launched a daily non-stop service linking Munich with Portugal’s second largest city, Porto. TAP also flies to continental Africa, serving Conakry in Guinea and Banjul in Gambia (from October 2019).

The carrier’s ambitious expansion strategy goes hand in glove with the upgrades and changes it is making to its fleet. In November 2018 TAP became the world’s first airline to take delivery of the new Airbus 330-900neo, an aircraft that sets new standards in a number of areas:

  • 298 seats
  • spacious overhead bins
  • new cabin lighting
  • new generation of in-flight entertainment
  • free and unlimited WiFi messaging service during the flight
  • outstanding economy and long range

Around 71 new aircraft will be integrated into the fleet by 2025 including A330-900neos, A320/321neos and the long range A321LR.
